I was but a boy of 12 when you were on one of your tours in Vietnam in 1967-1968. I recall from my incessant reading of the time that Vietnam was boiling. I did not know or recognized your name until I researched "The Medal of Honor" a couple of years back. For what it's worth from a man who never served, I am glad now, as was that 12yr old boy back then....that you were there.

Thank You Colonel

Outstanding Tribute Web Site dedicated to a great soldier who had such a great, positive, lasting impact on thousands of soldiers he trained...me included (Ranger School, 1977). It was an honor to have met him and run patrols in Mountain Phase with him humping a rucksack in that cold, rainy Georgia terrain. He was twice my age and he acted like he was out for an evening stroll!
