Hi, I'm Franklin D. Miller's daughter. Thank you for your website. As my dad's birthday nears every year I like to read back on his and others heroic actions. It's nice to know people care about our heroes. Thank you again. -Dani

I never heard about Col. Howard before today, but just reading about his courage made my day. May his family always be encouraged in knowing God only takes the best. Chaplain Scott

I had the privilege of sitting next to Col. Howard at the Medal of Honor meeting in Saratoga Springs, NY in 1997 or 98. It was a moment in my life which made me proud to have been in the US Army and to be an American. He was a most interesting and interested man.

I think a thank you needs to go out, not just to Colonel Howard, but to his parents. A man like this doesn't just show up. Honor, integrity, courage. Some of us are born with some of those things but I think that for a person to have all in such great abundance is rare indeed and I would say thank you to his parents for raising such a great man. And he was a great man in every sense of the word.

I served under the then Captain Howard with Co.C(ABN RGR)1/29 TSB Ft Benning Ga in 1974. Already a legend he inspired young soldiers(myself included) to do and be more. One of a kind I suspect there will be few ever to match him.
