Thank you Robert Howard; A simple "thank you" seems so woefully inadequate, but it is with profound gratitude that I express my thanks to you for your courageous actions in service to our country, and I'm sure that I speak for the vast majority of Americans in doing so. It makes me proud when I hear of feats of valor by men, such as yourself, and countless other brave men and women who serve in our nations military. God Bless you! God bless our troops! and GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

I'm proud to know of you! I'm an associate pastor in Oxford, AL, at the Trinity Baptist Church. Thank you for your courageous service to our country!!! There are 3 types of people in our world. 1. Sheep: Those that are defenseless and need protection. 2. Wolves: Those that prey on the sheep. 3. Guard dogs: Those that put their life on the line to protect the sheep from the wolves. Thanks for being a Guard dog!!!

Col. Bob, It has been a long time since I had this chance to catch up with you Bob. I left Ft. Sam Houston in 1993 for Ft. Bragg and you had already retired. I can still see my promotion to SFC at Ft. Sam Houston and it was a special ceremony for me. Everything was usual as promotions go but not everyone has a friend of theirs come in Jungle Como uniform, and is also the most decorated soldier in military history. I will never forget that day! I would like it is you could drop me a line with a current address so I could write you. My address is as follows: Bill Wetzig 13584 Sunset Lakes Circle Winter Garden, FL 34787 My best to you Bob. You are truely my hero and friend. My best also to Rosiland and Robert and hope they are doing well.

Bill

You were my Commanding Officer in Alpha Company, 2nd Airborne Ranger Battalion. Those days had a major impact on me. That was definitely the home of the warrior class. I would have followed you anywhere you led us. You had a both a major and positive influence on me and some of my closest friends. I wish everything good for you sir.

I just met Col. Howard this morning for the second time in my career. I attended basic training with his son at C co 2-58th at Ft Benning, and he spoke at our graduation, the man is the greatest inspiration a junior soldier can have. No one has made me remind myself of duty and selfless service more than he. God Bless America, and God Bless Col. Howard

COL Howard was my Company Commander at Aco 2nd Ranger BN, 75th Infantry. In fact he recruited me to his unit after I attended Ranger school. I will never forget that first day I met him - he was the image I wanted to emulate. Serving with such a great warrior and leader has been a distinct honor and privilege and I which I could of had more time than my two years. He trained us hard, lead us with professionalism and a never quit attitude that rubbed off on everyone under him.
My family and I were so honored to have him promote me in 2003 to Sergeant Major - he remains my personal hero and role model for leadership and warrior traits.
All the best to COL Robert L Howard. RLTW!

COL Howard was one of my RIs in Ranger School. I still remember when he called my name in the darkness to take the patrol from point A to Home with the admonition, Don't F*** it up. Prior to that he had explained tactics: concepts I still take to heart. I was privileged to meet this great soldier and will always value his leadership example.
